OS/ASSIST for DOS Version 1.10 by Oasis Sunrise Software

OS/ASSIST for DOS is a collection of DOS command line utilities designed to
increase the productivity of both the novice and expert computer user.
Installation
------------
To install OS/ASSIST, follow the steps below.

If installing from an installation diskette:

1. Insert the OS/ASSIST installation disk into the appropriate drive.
2. From the DOS command line prompt, type in A:INSTALL. If using the B
drive, substitute A: with B:.
3. Follow the directions for installing the software. The install
program will copy all needed files to your system and make the
required modifications to your AUTOEXEC.BAT file.

If performing a manual installation:
------------------------------------
1. Create a directory to hold the OS/ASSIST utilities.
From the DOS command line prompt, type in MD C:\OSASSIST.
2. Change the current directory to that of the OS/ASSIST directory.
From the DOS prompt, type in CD C:\OSASSIST.
3. Copy all of the OS/ASSIST files to the OS/ASSIST directory from all of
the installation diskettes.
From the DOS prompt, type in COPY A:*.* C:\OSASSIST.
4. Extract the utility files from the self extracting archive file.
From the DOS prompt, type in ASSIST.EXE.
5. Extract the help files from the self extracting archive file.
From the DOS prompt, type in OSHELP.EXE.
6. Modify the DOS PATH statement in your AUTOEXEC.BAT file to include
the OS/ASSIST directory. For example, if your current PATH statement
is:
PATH=C:\;C:\DOS
you would modify it to look as follows:
PATH=C:\;C:\DOS;C:\OSASSIST
7. Add * one * of the following statements to your AUTOEXEC.BAT file:
SET OSASSIST=NOVICE
(or)
SET OSASSIST=EXPERT

OS/ASSIST manual.
Printing the Manual
-------------------
If you would like a hardcopy of the manual, change the current directory
to the directory containing the OS/ASSIST utilities and type the command:
OSMANUAL.BAT
Online Manual
-------------
Included with the OS/ASSIST utilities is an online help facility.
Contained in the help facility is the user manual, a troubleshooting
guide, and helpful hints. To access the help facility once the
utilities have been installed, type the following:
OSASSIST.EXE
Registration Information
------------------------
Note that this is a shareware product. As such, you may use it on a
trial basis for thirty days. After that time, the program should be
registered if you intend to continue its use. The registration fee is
$14.95 for which you will receive the latest version plus free upgrades
for one year. The fee is payable to:

utilities when registering. Also specify 3.5" or 5.25" disk. An order
